Two men from Orem, Utah sustained personal injuries after being attacked by three dogs on July 29, according to police.
At approximately 7:30 a.m. on the day of the incident, 23-year-old Anthony Denovellis was walking to work when he was surrounded by two pit bulls and a Labrador retriever, according to police. One dog, a pit bull, attacked him from behind, causing several wounds to his legs. The other man, Jim McFarland arrived in the area to open a store and spotted Denovellis being surrounded by the animals. He called the dogs to distract them and allow Denovellis an opportunity to escape, but when he did, police say the dogs attacked him.
Police say that McFarland then backed into a fenced-in area with the dogs following him. After drawing them inside, he jumped out of the enclosure and shut the gate. The dogs were then taken to a shelter in Lindon, Utah where the second pit bull and the lab were claimed by a couple, who were issued five citations.
