Woman Files Suit Against Street Fair For Injuries

A personal injury suit has been filed against a street festival by a woman claiming that she sustained personal injuries after tripping over wiring in the middle of a street.

According to Patricia Johnson, on June 28, she fell over wiring that had been placed on German Street in Shepherdstown, West Virginia by the Shepherdstown Street Fest.

According to the complaint, the wiring was in an area that created a “hidden danger, trap, snare, pitfall, or the like.” It said that it was not known or obvious to Johnson.

According to Johnson, the fall caused her to sustain permanent personal injuries of a bodily, body chemistry, and psychological nature. She alleges having sustained suffering of great bodily and mental pain and incurred medical expenses.

According to Johnson, the defendant had a duty to exercise reasonable care to ensure that the premises remained in a safe condition, inspect the premises to be certain it was in a safe condition, warn Johnson of a defect on the premises, and correct or repair said defect.
